Longstanding Martinsburg private school to begin construction of new state-of the-art building.
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (Sept. 12, 2022) – Rocky Knoll School announces that it will mark the beginning of construction for a new-state-of-art building in a ground-breaking ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 2:00 p.m. on the property adjoining the Martinsburg Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 2407 Delmar Orchard Road.
The 12.37 acres of land overlooking 1-81 at the new site will be used to construct a 26,478 sq. ft. school facility, including a large gymnasium and commercial kitchen covering over 11,000 sq. ft. A fully-equipped playground will be located on the side of the gymnasium and a second fenced in playground will be located on the backside of the school for lower grade students to access directly from their classrooms.
Of the new building project, Rocky Knoll School principal Melissa Baggett said, “The project is a major investment for Rocky Knoll School, the Martinsburg Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Chesapeake Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, the school’s governing organization.
This new endeavor is a clear commitment to the Martinsburg community to provide high quality private Christian education. The new building is a logical and necessary step towards strengthening and growing the school’s position as a leading Christian educational institution in the Martinsburg area.”
